Straight build + Seals
This is the Gundam Base exclusive RG Unicorn Gundam Perfectibility. Following the HGUC, MG, and SD releases, this marks the 4th Perfectibility kit — this time in RG. The kit is made up of a combination of runners from the following kits.
1. RG Unicorn Gundam 03 Phenex
[Narrative Ver.] - Main body (excluding head antenna), backpack joint, stabilizers
2. RG Expansion Unit Armed Armor VN/BS
3. RG Unicorn Gundam Banshee Norn - Armed Armor XC & DE
4. RG Full Armor Unicorn Gundam - Hyper Beam Jabelin, head antenna
Unlike the HGUC, MG, and SD versions which each added at least some new parts, the RG Perfectibility is built entirely from a combination of existing kit runners with no new tooling. The MG is big and impressive but has some durability concerns, while the HGUC is light and stable but feels a bit simple in terms of detail. The RG sits right in the middle — being 1/144 scale keeps it stable, yet the detail and sculpt quality is actually more refined than the MG. In particular, compared to the MG, there's much less worry about it standing upright, it holds aerial poses better, and it boasts a complete transformation gimmick and a level of precision that the HG simply can't match at this size.
The Perfectibility weapons are all reused straight from their respective kits, so they deliver the same excellent RG-level gimmicks and detail as before. Everything clips together solidly, so you really don't need to worry much about parts falling off. That said, given how many moving parts and transformation gimmicks RG kits have, you do need to be a bit careful when handling it not to mess up the Destroy Mode proportions — more so than with the HGUC. The front skirts in particular are still as loose as ever, and they have a habit of popping off with a snap while you're posing the kit — same issue as before.
So the RG Perfectibility feels like a clever blend of the best parts of both the MG and HGUC. If you want something big and visually striking, go MG. If you want something affordable, clean, and stable to display standing up, go HGUC. And if you want a good balance of stability, transformation gimmick, and detail, the RG is the one to pick. Of course, if you're a true Perfectibility fan, the real move is to collect all the grades — that's what a die-hard fan would do. :-)
