This kit is the HG Mailes Jogan Kai, released as the 11th entry in the Kyoukai Senki series. As the name suggests, it's an upgraded version of the HG Mailes Jogan, and while the design looks pretty similar at first glance, if you look closely you'll notice the head, forearms, binders, and legs have all been reworked with new sculpts.

Along with that, a massive 45mm rotary armor machine cannon is included as a new weapon — you can mount it all over the body for some seriously impactful firing poses. It also stores two 40mm portable machine cannons inside, opening up all kinds of dynamic posing options. Everything else carries over from the original, and it still delivers class-A articulation and solid joint strength.

So while there are plenty of new sculpts and equipment added, the design is similar enough that the differences aren't immediately obvious. That said, it's still a high-quality HG kit through and through, so if the style appeals to you, it's definitely worth picking up and having fun with. :-)
