Kit Review
Straight build + Stickers
A separate tow grip part is included, which can be swapped onto the back of the Trace Missiles.
Clearly designed with the future Huckebein Boxer in mind for grabbing this grip.

This kit is the HG AM Gunner from Super Robot Wars, released as a Bandai Hobby Online Shop exclusive. It's a large weapon support unit for the HG Huckebein Mk-III , and it measures a whopping 39cm in length. The part count isn't enormous for its size, so there's a satisfying feeling of snapping together big, chunky parts.
Since this kit basically wins on sheer size and presence, the articulation and gimmicks are somewhat limited. That said, the riding grips and pedals on either side of the center unit are on ball joints, so you can position them pretty flexibly. You can also lift the saddle section on the back upward, pull out the hidden mounting pin, and plug it into the Huckebein Mk-III's crotch area — which keeps it locked in nice and stable without any wobbling.
On top of that, pulling the front section of the Trace Missiles on either side triggers a linked gimmick where all 4 covers open simultaneously. There's a really satisfying snap as they smoothly open and close on their own. You can also slide the Trace Missiles themselves rearward, and swap in a tow grip on the back — which is clearly intended for a future HG Huckebein Boxer to grab onto.
The included large stand also comes with two pillar heights, and the taller one doesn't seem to have any immediate use — the manual just says to keep it stored safely. It all seems like groundwork being laid for eventually recreating the Full Impact Cannon together with the future Huckebein Boxer.
For reference, the HG Huckebein Mk-II can also be seated without any issues, and it should be compatible with mid-to-large HG Gunpla that have a stand hole in the crotch area. I tried seating the MG First Gundam as a test, and as you can see in the photos above, the proportions don't look all that great.
All in all, it's pretty significant that a large Super Robot Wars support weapon like this has been released — one that looks great with color separation alone, no stickers needed. If you own the HG Huckebein Mk-III, this is definitely a tempting addition. The one downside is that the parts are so large that the gates tend to be unusually chunky (...), which makes cleanup a bit of a pain. As long as you're prepared for that, this is a quality mecha model kit that's well worth the build. :-)
