Kit Review
Straight build + Stickers
The HG Huckebein Mk-III is completely identical to the previous release, with only the stand changed.
When docking the Huckebein Mk-III, attach the crotch parts first, then connect the legs and upper body.
Articulation of the Huckebein Boxer main body.
Better than expected — the ankles in particular are really flexible.
Articulation with the HG Huckebein Mk-III docked.
The joint layout is brilliantly done — you get nearly the same range of motion as without the Mk-III on board.
The crotch parts (white) can be used in two different configurations,
the left part has a connecting pin for the upper and lower body, while the right one doesn't.
When building just the Boxer on its own, you can only use the left part, but once you dock the Huckebein Mk-III, you can switch to the right part.
Since the upper and lower body aren't locked together, this allows waist rotation as shown in the right image.
Catapult Kick pose.
The stand holds firm and the joint strength is solid, so you can display it stably despite its size and weight.
TRANSFORMATION : GRAVITY SWORD DIVER
Connect the backpack and crotch section using the transformation white parts,
then rotate the shoulder joints 90 degrees forward.
Poses using the Gravity Sword Diver as a sword
This kit takes up a ridiculous amount of display space one way or another..
There's one odd thing though..
The Gravity Sword Diver doesn't really have a handle or any kind of grip point, so you just have to press the Huckebein Mk-III's hand up against it as best you can.
No matter how much I looked through the manual and official build photos, there's no explanation for this.
Alongside the Kotobukiya Huckebein Boxer released in 2006.
The shoulders and arm unit are noticeably bigger now.
The visual difference isn't as dramatic as you might expect, but the articulation and joint strength are worlds apart.
Comparison of just the AM Boxer bodies.
The Kotobukiya version has weak shoulder ball joints, so the arms can't be raised properly on their own — it just stands at attention.
