Kit Review

This kit is the 1/12 Captain Phasma (Ver. Episode 8) from the Star Wars series, and it's essentially the previously released Episode 7 version with new weapons added. About 95% of the contents are completely identical — the only differences are two extendable weapon parts added and the rifle-holding left hand swapped out for a right hand for the extendable weapon.
So the basic features, cape swapping, rifle poses, and everything else are all the same as before — for a more detailed look, check out the Captain Phasma (Ver. Episode 7) review for reference. In this review, you'll really just want to enjoy the poses using the new weapon.
At its core, this is a typical Bandai-style action figure kit with decent articulation and solid joint strength, and the big selling point is that shiny, reflective plated finish. (Which is also why it's pricey.) The newly added extendable weapon comes in two forms — a short version and a long version — and you can pull off some reasonably nice poses with it.
This kit's main claim to fame is simply that it includes the Episode 8 weapon, but the overall quality is good, so it's definitely worth recommending to anyone who hasn't built the Episode 7 version yet. :-)
