The Mandalorian & Grogu

Kit Review

Straight build + Stickers

Alongside the release of the Star Wars film "The Mandalorian & Grogu," Bandai has released the 1/12 The Mandalorian & Grogu as a Star Wars plastic model kit. It's based on the existing 1/12 Mandalorian (Beskar Armor)with newly sculpted parts added. Specifically, some parts on the main figure and three small, adorable Grogu figures have been newly added.

Most of the main figure is identical to the previous release, with only three changed parts — the main gun belt worn around the torso and the right thigh armor. The differences aren't huge, but it's nice to see the subtle changes from the film carefully reproduced with new sculpts. The figure's articulation is still fairly standard, but the overall proportions and look stay faithful to the source material. On top of that, a new weapon has been added in the form of a dagger called the Gladius.

Grogu comes in three forms: a shoulder-riding version, a standard version, and a new armor version. The shoulder-riding one works by removing one backpack part and plugging Grogu into that spot. Articulation-wise, the neck, shoulders, and wrists can move. The standard and new armor versions even have tiny little feet sculpted on the bottom.

So while the changes tied to the new film are fairly modest, you do get three types of adorable Grogu included. Overall it's a solid, no-frills kit, and if you enjoyed the film, it's definitely worth picking up. :-)
