Kit Review

This kit is the 1/1000 Hyuga released as part of the Yamato series. It's the battleship from Yamato 3199, and shares a lot of parts with its predecessors, Dreadnought/Asuka— though more than half the parts are newly tooled.
The hull itself follows the same format as Asuka — the front section is shared with the Dreadnought, but the rear has an added flight deck. Compared to Asuka, the deck is wider, which adds significant volume to the rear section and brings in a good amount of new tooling. The LED gimmick works the same as before, borrowing two LED units for illumination. You get 6 Cosmo Bisons, 4 Cosmo Tiger IIs, and 2 Cosmo Seagulls as carrier aircraft, which can be freely arranged in the internal hangar or on the deck.
Other than the gun barrels, there are no moving parts — same as the previous kits. But it's a fantastic space battleship model kit that's just fun to build and display. Either way, if you're a Yamato fan or just into building space battleships, this one's definitely worth checking out. :-)
