Kotobukiya Frame Arms Girl

Izumo

Kit Review

Straight build

This kit is Izumo, released as part of the Frame Arms Girl series. It's based on the previously released Frame Arms Girl Kongouwith new parts added to the lineup. Frame Arms Izumoserved as the motif for this girlpla release.

In terms of design specs, the basic skeleton and armor configuration are the same as Kongou, and it still delivers solid articulation and sturdy durability. The feature of separating the armor to build a hull frame for the cruise form is carried over as well. Compared to Kongou, the torso, legs, and head designs have been changed on the main body, and the deck section design is different along with the weapons. Functionally, a gimmick for forming a large drone has been added, and four small drones can now be deployed on the deck.

The small drones can be placed on a mini stand using the included joint parts — though a stand for the drones isn't included, so you'll need to borrow one from another kit. You can then connect that borrowed stand post to the deck to display the drones in a launched pose (see review photos).

So following Kongou, Izumo has also been released as a pair just like the Frame Arms versions. Each one faithfully reflects its own distinct concept and design, and the overall build quality is great on both. The price has gone up to ¥9050 due to the generous amount of included parts, but if you're a fan of flashy-styled girlplas, this one is definitely worth a strong recommendation. :-)
