Kotobukiya Frame Arms Girl

Stylet Swimsuit Ver.

Kit Review

Straight build

This kit is the Stylet Swimsuit Ver. released as part of the Frame Arms Girl series. While it might look like a variation of the previously released Frame Arms Girl Stylet, aside from a few shared parts, this is actually an almost entirely new-sculpt kit. True to its name, it comes in a swimsuit and goggles look.

The basic skeletal structure is similar to previous kits, delivering solid articulation and stable joint strength. The new weapons include a smart gun and a hand machine gun, and there's a gimmick where you can detach the Booster on the back and use it as a small aircraft. On top of that, 7 types of cat ears — previously included in some Frame Arms Girl kits — are provided as accessories. A clear stand is also included in the box.

The overall build quality is solid, but the notably long back hair piece has a tendency to pop off easily. This is actually a recurring issue that was present in the older Stylet as well — it seems to be a problem that carried over from reusing the same head parts.

Aside from that back hair popping off issue, there aren't really any other notable downsides to this kit — the build feel and overall package are clean and well put together. Since it's essentially a new-sculpt kit, even if you already own the original Stylet, this is a pretty enough girl-pla that's well worth picking up. :-)
