Kotobukiya Frame Arms Girl

Izumo Destroyer Ver.

Kit Review

Straight build

This kit is the Izumo Destroyer Ver. released as part of the Frame Arms Girl series. Based on the Frame Arms Girl Izumo,it features a molded color change along with a few newly sculpted parts. Essentially, it's a variation on the same concept as the Kotobukiya Shop limited-edition Kongou Destroyer Ver.

With the Destroyer Ver., the previously bright molded colors have shifted to a dark gray tone, giving it a heavier, more imposing and rugged feel. The newly added back hair splits into two thin strands, and the original short ponytail-style hair is also included. On top of that, the throwing anchor added for the Destroyer Ver. features real metal chain parts, giving it a satisfying weight and a realistic look.

At its core, it's a color variant with a few bonus additions, but since the original kit was already excellent, this still comes out as a high-quality girl pla. Even with all the parts hanging off it, everything holds together firmly and stays posed at any angle — that's always satisfying. That said, there are quite a lot of parts, so the build time is considerable, and the price is a bit on the high side at ¥8800. Either way, there's nothing to complain about in terms of quality, so if the style and color scheme appeal to you, this is definitely worth recommending. :-)
