The Arcanagia series has been brought into the Grande Scale lineup, and Lumitea is the first release to kick things off. Since the Arcanagia series is already Kotobukiya's top-tier girlpla lineup, the Grande Scale version comes out looking pretty spectacular — released at a hefty price of ¥13,000 to match its record-breaking volume.

The high price comes with a substantial parts count, and the wing parts in particular have some serious volume and weight to them. Thankfully the overall joint strength is solid, so there are no issues with the body or wing stability — but the wings are pretty aggressively large and heavy. That makes a stand an absolute must for this kit, though even the included stand can't hold things together once you go for anything even slightly dynamic. Standing poses are fine, but it's a shame a sturdier, larger stand wasn't included to handle more expressive posing.

And the original version Lumiteaalready had excellent color separation, but with the larger scale, even the small gems scattered across the body are now separated out in clear yellow. Color separation has been added to the top of the feet as well, so the overall finish has stepped up a notch. Beyond that, the weapons and accessories are pretty much the same as the original, and a nice touch is that the normal mode wings come in two different articulation styles.

All in all, this is a large-scale girlpla that takes the quality of a top-tier lineup even further — and it really delivers. The design was already gorgeous to begin with, and scaling it up just makes it look even more stunning and impressive. The price is a bit of a stretch, but once you actually build it, it starts to feel pretty justified. Either way, if you're into large-scale girlplas, this is easily a top recommendation — it's a kit with seriously high-quality visuals. :-)
