Kotobukiya Megami Device

Sitara Kaneshiya Tenki Ver.Ganesa

Kit Review

Straight build

This kit is the Sitara Kaneshiya Tenki Ver.Ganesa, released as a collaboration series between the mobile game Alice Gear Aegis and Megami Device. It's a combined set of the previously released Sitara Kaneshiya [Tenki] and the Ganesa Unit. Think of it as the [Tenki] version of the Sitara Kaneshiya Ver.Ganesa.That's basically what it is.

In other words, it takes the Ganesa Unit and changes the molded color to Tenki colors, then bundles it together with the Sitara Kaneshiya [Tenki]. There are no newly sculpted parts, so all the structural features are identical. The one exception is the three facial expressions, which have been swapped out for newly sculpted versions. So for this review, you can pretty much just focus on how the Tenki and Ganesa combination looks, and check out the new faces.

Both the base body and the Ganesa Unit show the same clean build quality as before, though the joint that attaches the Ganesa Unit is still ever so slightly iffy in terms of stability. That said, if you push it in firmly and get it seated properly, it holds up well enough. Also, to display the SP Gears — which are unique to the Tenki and weren't included in the original color version — floating in mid-air, you'll need the separately sold Flying Base A. It's ¥2000 for what is essentially an accessory stand, but it really does let you show off the Tenki's SP Gears in style. (I went ahead and bought one specifically for this review... -.-)

All in all, the main appeal of this kit is simply that the Sitara Kaneshiya Ver.Ganesa is now available in Tenki colors. The ¥14,800 price tag is still pretty eye-watering, but the visual impact and overall flair are undeniably impressive. It's pricey, sure, but it does feel like you're getting your money's worth — so if the look appeals to you, it's definitely worth taking the plunge. :-)
