This kit is the 1/12 Zero First version released as part of Kotobukiya's Mega Man series. Based on the framework of the previously released 1/12 Mega Man X Zero, it's a variation kit with a large number of newly sculpted parts applied — the shoulders, head, torso, and back-of-head design have all been changed.
The basic joint structure is similar to the Mega Man X Zero, so the overall articulation characteristics are comparable. However, the ankle section, which had been somewhat loose before, now features a new joint that significantly improves both stability and articulation. In particular, it moves flexibly in various directions while the foot stays flat on the ground, making pose stability on flat surfaces much better. The issue of the ankle popping off during posing — which was a structural problem — has also been resolved, so the ankle no longer separates during handling.
Accessories include a steel pipe and a Buster, along with 4 types of hands. There are no effect parts or a stand included, so the overall package feels relatively light on extras.
All in all, this is a quality kit that delivers excellent articulation and joint strength, and the previously weak ankle joint has been improved, giving the whole thing a much more stable feel. Either way, as a treat for Mega Man fans, if you like the character and the style, this seems like a kit I can recommend without hesitation. :-)
