R-GUN Powered

Kit Review

Straight build

The R-GUN Powered has been released as a variation of the SRW Series 6 R-Gun. The Powered variants in the R series are weapons-enhanced versions, replacing the beam katar sword that was mounted on the R-Gun's back with a large Hi-Twin Launcher.

Since the main body is 100% identical to the original R-Gun, for a detailed breakdown of the body itself please refer to the R-Gun review, and for this kit you really just need to check out the Hi-Twin Launcher on the back.

The added Hi-Twin Launcher is quite large — around 20cm in total length, bigger than the main robot itself. Thankfully, it's light enough for its length that it doesn't droop downward, but the snap-fit on the complex gimmicks at the launcher's base is really weak and falls apart easily.. Definitely a spot where glue is needed. Drop it and it basically completely disassembles — the snap-fit is just awful.

Compared to the neat and tidy R-Gun, this one can feel a bit cluttered, but it does look pretty cool on display. Having a dedicated stand with the name printed on it adds even more presence. Either way, it's a kit that definitely has a certain something going for it. :-)
