This kit is the Veloce, released as part of the Hexa Gear series. Much like the previously released Hexa Gear Bulk Arm Granz / BA Loudgaleit's a mech that transforms into a cool Vehicle Mode — but this kit goes one step further with an additional transformation into an aircraft-style Interceptor Mode.

First off, the thick, large box and the sheer number of parts will catch you off guard. The assembled kit is also a large-scale build on par with an MG Sazabi. That said, the joints are tightened up quite firmly, so despite the size and weight, the stability is solid. As for weapons, two rifles are included, and you can mount them at various points on the body using the joint parts.

The transformation process follows the typical Kotobukiya-style disassemble-and-reassemble approach. It's a bit of a hassle to transform, but the end result is pretty satisfying. It pulls off a great Batmobile-style color scheme with flashy detailing and solid stability. The connection points where the arms and wheels attach at the rear are a little iffy, but overall the form holds together well.

The aircraft-style Interceptor Mode feels like a slight rearrangement of the Vehicle Mode layout, so the silhouettes end up looking fairly similar. Still, with the nose extending out and the wings spreading open, it does manage to look distinct enough in its own right.

A robot that transforms into both a car and an aircraft — it's the kind of kit that really gets mech fans excited. The solid joint strength and stability it offers alongside its impressive size are definitely worth praising. The ¥12,000 price tag might be the one downside, but if you're a fan of flashy transforming kits, this one seems well worth giving a shot. :-)
