This kit is the Governor Armor Type : Pawn A1 Ver.2.0 released in the Hexa Gear series. Following the 2017 Governor Armor Type : Pawn A1and the 2019 Governor Armor Type : Pawn A1 Ver1.5 this marks an upgrade all the way to Ver.2.0. Unlike the Ver1.5, which only made minor tweaks to a few joints, this Ver.2.0 has been completely remodeled with 100% new tooling.
First off, while the overall concept is similar, the appearance feels quite different. The details on each part have all been changed, and most notably the proportions have shifted quite a bit. It's gone from a stocky, broad-shouldered look to a narrower form with slimmer shoulders and hips — which is definitely going to be a love-it-or-hate-it change. The hip area in particular has gotten so narrow that the leg pins tend to pop out easily, which is a bit of a problem.
The kit comes with a rifle and sword as weapons, and just like before you can store them on the back. There's also a gimmick that lets you combine the rifle and sword into a bayonet configuration. One interesting touch is that three different head types are included — a helmet-off version, an open-helmet version, and a standard helmeted version — so you can create a different vibe with each one.
Articulation has seen some slight improvements, most notably the addition of a new joint that lets the upper thigh bend inward, which really helps with posing. The waist's front-to-back range of motion has also gotten a bit wider. Outside of those changes, it honestly doesn't feel like a huge step up from the Ver1.5 in terms of articulation — but the joint strength has noticeably improved. The wrist ball joint that used to pop out all the time has been swapped for a fixed pin, which makes it much more secure and overall posing feels a lot more comfortable.
So as a Ver.2.0, it's come out as a fully renewed kit and it's done well. The most welcome improvement is the better joint security and strength that were a bit lacking before. The subtly changed proportions might not be everyone's cup of tea, but if the look works for you, this is definitely a Hexa Gear Governor kit worth recommending :-)
