This kit is the HGUC Gaplant TR-5 [Hrairoo] Gigantic Arm Unit (A.O.Z Re-boot Ver.), released as a Club G (Premium Bandai) online exclusive. Using the general retail HGUC Gaplant TR-5 Hrairooas the base, it combines parts from various kits including the Gigantic Arms. A small number of newly sculpted parts have also been added.
First, the main body uses the configuration with newly sculpted parts included in the HGUC Gaplant TR-5 [Hrairoo] (Titans Colors)released alongside it through Club G, so the shoulders, hands, crotch area and other sections have been changed, and the joint parts have also been switched to KPS. The head still uses the original Gaplant head, though a new Gundam-type head is also included as a bonus. On top of that, the Gigantic Arms from the Club G release HGUC Gundam TR-1
[Hazel Owsla]
Gigantic Arm Unit Equipmenthave been reused, and to achieve the binder structure, 4 runners from the Club G release HGUC Hrududu II Expansion Set have also been added. To recreate the 2 Composite Shields, 4 runners from the general retail HGUC Hazel Customhave been reused as well.
A small number of newly sculpted parts have also been added. The movable shield binders that were attached to the original Gaplant's elbows have been removed, and in place of the fixing pins that connected them, new parts with holes have been applied. Joint parts to connect the Gigantic Arms to the shoulders of the Gaplant Hrairoo have also been added, bringing the total to 4 newly sculpted parts. As a typical A.O.Z kit made up of 4 kits combined together like this, it comes out as a kit that boasts a seriously hefty volume thanks to the Gigantic Arms.
That said, since the base kit for the main body is from 2003, the joint strength isn't quite up to the task of handling such a massive bulk. Fortunately, a clear stand that supports the back of the shoulders on 2 axes is included, which makes standing upright reasonably doable. However, the main body isn't held tightly in place, so even if you get it standing nicely, the pose collapses easily T_T. It can hold the standing position well enough on its own, but the slightest nudge will knock it out of shape. The old-style ball-joint hips in particular just can't hold up, and honestly you're probably better off putting it on a stand and going for a mid-air pose instead. Even when displayed in the air, if you make good use of the 2-axis stand, you can pull off a pose with the shoulders spread wide open. (Though how long it'll actually hold is another story..)
So while the sheer bulk that comes with the Gigantic Arm Equipment is a big selling point, it's ended up being a kit that's extremely difficult to pose, just like the Hazel Owsla. Both of them have massive arms bolted onto old-generation HGUC bodies, so it's fundamentally a problem that can't really be helped. Anyway, the durability is a bit disappointing, but it's also the kind of kit where just having it standing there quietly is enough of a presence to forgive all that :-)
