- Units 2 and 3 were released as variations based directly on Ingram Unit 1.
- Reactive Armor Unit 1 was released as a variation with about 40% of Ingram Unit 1's parts swapped out,
and using that as the base, the Reactive Armor Unit 3 kit was released as a combined kit covering the Reactive Armor versions of Units 2 and 3.
- Including the Flash Unit Unit 2 — which incorporates the flash unit that was originally sold separately for ¥2000 — there are 6 Ingram kits in total.
- The Griffon comes in two variations: the Aqua Type and the Flight Type.
- The actual release order is a bit all over the place, but the table above is arranged for easy reading.
All 6 Ingram kits together!
First, just for fun, here's the figure painting process... ^^; The pilot figures come molded in plain white. But since the Ingram's pilot is actually visible, I treated it as part of the exterior and went ahead and painted it..;
Primed with white surfacer, then painted with skin color..
Painting the clothes
Finished up with panel lining! The top row is the pilots for the normal version Units 1–3, and the bottom row is the pilots for the Reactive Armor version Units 1–3. The Reactive Armor pilots are in long-sleeved outfits..
Since Unit 2 and Flash Unit Unit 2 actually use the same Ohta pilot figure, I painted 7 in total.
Group squat~ (or maybe a gyro drop..)
There are 6 different Ingram heads in total. Quite a variety;;
One thing to note — all of them except Unit 1 have the unit number written on the ear.
All 7 Ingrams lined up with their respective pilot figures.
The Ingram itself came in 4 different versions: Units 1, 2, and 3, plus the Flash Unit Unit 2.
The normal version trio in action poses.
The normal version heads.
The shoulder differences. Units 1, 2, and 3 are each slightly different.
Aside from the head and shoulders, Units 1, 2, and 3 have no exterior differences.
If you look closely, the numbers on the license plates are different for each unit though.
Now here are the Reactive Armor Units 1, 2, and 3 trio. Just to clarify again — Units 2 and 3 actually come as a combined kit where you choose which one to build, but I bought two of that kit to build Units 2 and 3 separately. I really wanted to have all three Reactive Armor units together.. ^^
Since there's no number on the shoulder armor, the unit number is on the forearm instead.
The Reactive Armor trio in action poses. Things look a bit chaotic, right? ;; Reactive Armor is really hard to pose T_T
The Reactive Armor heads. Only Unit 1 is the same as the normal version — the rest are completely different.
The rubber parts on the arms.. If you look closely, the texture feels different on each one. Unit 1 has that shiny look you get right when you open the bag, Unit 3's slightly less glossy look is roughly what it looks like after wiping off the oil, and Unit 2's subtle matte rubber finish is the result of scrubbing the grease off like crazy with soap and doing some surface treatment. Unit 2's rubber naturally looks the best, right? ^^; I didn't intentionally make them all different — it just kind of ended up that way -_-;
With the Reactive Armor versions too, aside from the head and arms, they all look pretty much the same.
Interestingly, only Unit 2 comes with 3 different head options.
All 9 standing figures included with the Ingram kits gathered together. Most of the main characters are here, but oddly enough, the actual pilots Noa and Ohta don't have standing figures;;
Add in the 3 black Griffon figures, and you've got the complete Patlabor standing figure collection.
The full collection of all 8 Patlabor kits.
Normal version vs. Reactive Armor version
This is just the 7 Ingrams gathered together.. Honestly, building 7 of basically the same thing got a little tedious.. *cough*;
Together with the official Korean release of the Patlabor manga. Patlabor is personally my second favorite mecha anime after Gundam — I love both the manga and the anime ^_^ (Though the actual content is more of a sitcom than a mecha show..;)
